Lisa Beck, PhD

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Meet Dr. Lisa Beck

Hi! I’m Lisa. I’m so glad you’re here and exploring support for whatever life may be bringing your way.

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who works with adolescents, adults, and older adults across a wide range of concerns and life experiences. My approach to therapy is collaborative, affirming, and deeply rooted in helping clients feel fully seen, understood, and respected for who they are.

I believe therapy should be a space where you can show up authentically. You may come to therapy already with a clear understanding of what you want to work on, or you may sense that something isn’t quite right and needs change. Together, we can create a space grounded in curiosity, insight, and meaningful change.

My therapeutic style is integrative, relational, and trauma-informed. I draw from evidence-based approaches while also honoring the cultural, relational, and contextual factors that shape each person’s lived experience and identity. Our work together will always be anchored in understanding and moving towards your values. See below for the specific areas I focus on:

LGBTQIA+ Affirming Care

I specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ individuals and provide affirming therapy across a range of experiences and concerns. I am passionate about creating a therapeutic environment where clients feel safe exploring identity, relationships, self-understanding, and personal growth without fear of judgment or misunderstanding.

I also provide gender-affirming care and documentation services, and I support clients in navigating both internal experiences and external systems with compassion and respect.

Trauma-Informed Therapy

Many people enter therapy carrying the impact of traumatic events, chronic stress, invalidation, or relational wounds. My work is grounded in trauma-informed care, meaning I prioritize emotional safety, collaboration, empowerment, and an understanding of how past experiences can shape present patterns.

I approach client struggles with compassion and curiosity rather than viewing these struggles as deficits. I recognize that many coping strategies are developed as an adaptive response to overwhelming experiences. Together, we will deepen your self-understanding and expand your approaches to your creating and maintaining your meaningful life.

Neurodiversity & Neuro-Affirming Approaches

Humans are diverse in their ways of thinking, processing, and experiencing the world. I value and support different ways of being. My neuro-affirming approach focuses on understanding clients within the context of their strengths, needs, identities, and environments rather than attempting to force masking or other ways of conforming to societal standards.

Therapy can be a space to better understand yourself, address shame, strengthen self-advocacy, and develop strategies that support your well-being and goals.

Identity, Relationships, & Personal Growth

I enjoy helping clients explore identity development, relationship concerns, life transitions, self-esteem, and questions surrounding meaning, authenticity, and values. Many clients come to therapy unsure exactly how to describe what feels “off,” and that is completely okay.

You do not need to have the perfect language for your experiences before beginning therapy. Part of the work we do together can involve gaining clarity, understanding patterns, and identifying what feels most aligned with the person you want to become.

Therapeutic Approach

My work is informed by several evidence-based and culturally responsive approaches, including:

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

  • Narrative Therapy

  • Existential Approaches

  • Third-Wave Multicultural Feminist Therapy

These approaches allow me to tailor therapy to each client’s individual needs while remaining attentive to the broader social, cultural, and relational contexts that shape emotional experiences.

Above all, I believe the therapeutic relationship itself matters deeply. If we decide to work together, I hope to create a space where you feel supported in exploring your experiences and values with honesty, clarity, and self-compassion.
